Actor Dhanush, who's also a producer and manager, tweeted Wednesday that maestro Ilaiyaraaja has a tune in his forthcoming movie Maari 2. Directed by Balaji Mohan, the movie is a sequel to Maari, which published in 2015. Dhanush explained that hearing the maestro sing was a 'heavenly encounter'.
Aside from Dhanush, the movie also offers Sai Pallavi, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Tovino Thomas from the cast. Sai Pallavi is set to create her Tamil introduction with Karu in February and Maari two will most likely be her next movie to hit the screens.
Balaji Mohan had tweeted he had been happy to own Yuvan Shankar Raja on-board Maari 2. The audio composer had worked on a Dhanush movie ten years back. Yuvan, or YSR as he is popularly known as, is among the hottest music directors from the Tamil movie industry now.
The movie, which is anticipated to launch in Tamil and Telugu, will indicate Tovino's introduction in the Tamil market. The celebrity is new from the success of this Aashiq Abu directorial Mayaanadhi, where he played with a criminal on the run. He's also acted in Tharangam, a black humor, which indicated Dhanush's first Malayalam movie production.
